Six candidates for the Santa Rosa City Council are expected to participate in a public forum Thursday night sponsored by the League of Women Voters.

Two incumbents - Julie Combs and Ernesto Olivares - are vying for four council seats along with Jack Tibbetts, Chris Rogers, Don Taylor and Brandi Asker. Council members Gary Wysocky and Erin Carlstrom are not seeking re-election.

Rent control is the key issue, with housing, homelessness, roads and cannabis regulation also on voters’ minds.

The public is invited to the forum from 6-7:30 p.m. in the City Council Chambers, 100 Santa Rosa Ave. Written questions will be accepted, the league said.
