A suspected drunken driving crash on River Road in Forestville led to the arrest of a Forestville man and minor injuries to three people, the CHP said Tuesday.

Esa Wroth, 29, was taken into custody Sunday evening following the 7:05 p.m. crash near Martinelli Road, CHP Officer Jon Sloat said.

Officers determined Wroth had been driving east on River Road in a 2002 Honda Accord when he crossed the double yellow lines and hit a 2009 Mazda 3 headed westbound, Sloat said.

Driver Jennifer Harmon, 32, and two passengers, all from Sebastopol, complained of pain.

Officers reported Wroth failed a sobriety test. He was arrested on suspicion of felony DUI and driving with a suspended license, and was booked into the Sonoma County Jail. He was not in jail Tuesday, according to jail records.

In January, Sonoma County Supervisors agreed to pay Wroth $1.25 million to settle an excessive force lawsuit he filed regarding a lengthy struggle with correctional deputies in the county jail as he was being booked for a suspected drunken driving case in January 2013.

During that struggle, captured on a 29-minute videotape, he was shot 23 times with a Taser.
