California Highway Patrol officers Monday night arrested a Cazadero man, suspecting he was driving drunk after he crashed his car down an embankment from the Cazadero Highway.

Troy Kingsboro, 34, ran off the rural highway about 10:40 p.m., north of Highway 116, according to the CHP.

His 2004 Toyota Prius traveled about 50 feet down and rolled to one side. Arriving firefighters found the man lying on top of the wrecked car, said Monte Rio Fire Chief Steve Baxman.

Firefighters carried him up the embankment to an ambulance and he was taken to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital. Kingsboro suffered a fractured hip, other broken bones and cuts, according to the CHP. He was arrested but remained at the hospital due to his injuries.
