A 22-year-old man in a rollover crash Thursday night was airlifted to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital with moderate injuries, said CHP Sgt. Andrew Henkens.

The man, Orren Vicente Jr., of Stewarts Point, crashed a Chevy Suburban into a ditch off Stewarts Point-Skaggs Springs Road near Miller Ridge Road in rural northern Sonoma County just before 9 p.m. Thursday, according to the CHP. The vehicle hit a tree and was found resting on its side, Henkens said.

Vicenti, who lives near the site of the crash, was arrested for suspected drunken driving at the scene and then transported to the hospital via emergency helicopter. He was heavily intoxicated, said CHP Officer Justin Salaun.

“He admitted to drinking a handful of things,” Salaun said.

The man was initially trapped in his vehicle, but his girlfriend and a family member who first found him pulled him from the passenger window, Salaun said. He had a cut on his right eye and was complaining of severe back pain.
