Storms wash away chunk of I-80 exit near Colfax

Part of an exit off of Interstate 80 in Placer County has been washed away by storms that have walloped Northern California for days.

The California Highway Patrol in Colfax posted photos on Facebook Wednesday, showing a chunk of Morton Road near the Alta exit washed out and calling the area "very unstable and unsafe."

The Placer County Sheriff's Office is warning the driving public to stay away from the area, which remains closed.
