WOODLAND - The father of an infant found dead near the Sacramento River faces charges of involuntary manslaughter, months after the baby's mother was convicted of murder.

Yolo County prosecutors announced Wednesday that 31-year-old Woodland resident Frank Rees was charged in the death of 19-day-old Justice Rees.

The baby's body was found in February 2015 after an all-night search of a swampy area near the rural town of Knights Landing, 30 miles west of Sacramento.

His mother, Samantha Green, was found wandering and disoriented nearby. Prosecutors say she was high on methamphetamine when she wandered into the slough with the child.

The Sacramento Bee reports (http://bit.ly/2mmxLez) that Rees is also charged with administering a controlled substance.

He is set for arraignment on Thursday, when he is likely to be assigned an attorney.
