Condition of Santa Rosa man hurt in bike accident improves

Santa Rosa police are continuing their investigation of a Monday afternoon bike crash on Santa Rosa Avenue near Colgan Avenue involving a Santa Rosa cyclist struck by a car.

Police said Darrell Lee Spurlock, 52, rode across lanes and into the path of a vehicle, according to preliminary police reports.

Spurlock was found unconscious on the road about 12:20 p.m. with life-threatening injuries.

He was reported in good condition Tuesday in Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital's intensive care unit, according to a hospital spokeswoman.
