A Napa man pleaded not guilty Monday to kidnapping and raping a 13-year-old girl who escaped by leaping from his moving pickup in Bodega Bay.

Timothy Lee Marble, 50, spoke little as he appeared in custody before Judge Patrick Broderick. A preliminary hearing was set for June 23.

Marble was arrested April 1 after he called 911 to report the girl jumped from his truck and ran off. He was detained after the girl emerged from some bushes and told deputies he raped her.

The man with the long criminal history is alleged to have abducted the girl a day earlier at a Napa gas station. Over 27 hours, authorities said Marble smoked pot with her, injected her with methamphetamine and carved his name in her leg with a blade.

He faces life in prison if convicted of all charges, including aggravated sexual assault of a child and committing lewd acts on someone under 14.
