A Santa Rosa man was sentenced to nine years in prison Tuesday exactly one year after he fled the scene of a car accident that left his two passengers with severe spinal injuries.

On June 6, 2015, Jorden Ferrere, 30, was driving his Dodge Ram pickup truck in excess of 100 mph southbound on Highway 101 around 2 a.m., when he lost control, rolled three times and slammed into an embankment by the Todd Road exit, said the Sonoma County District Attorney’s Office.

A 42-year-old passenger suffered a broken neck and a 34-year-old passenger suffered a fractured neck, a severe concussion and a fractured sternum, the DA’s Office said.

Ferrere fled the scene and did not turn himself in to the CHP until a week later. He pled no contest to leaving the scene of an accident after causing serious injury, and reckless driving causing great bodily injury after two prior DUI convictions.
