Man robs Santa Rosa bank at gunpoint

A man walked into a Santa Rosa bank Saturday afternoon with a piece of clothing covering his face and robbed it at gunpoint, police said.

No one was injured in the 3:44 p.m. holdup at the Chase Bank branch at Guerneville Road and Range Avenue, according to Santa Rosa police.

When a bank employee told the man to take the clothing off his face before approaching the teller area, the man pulled a black handgun from a paper bag, pointed it at the employee and demanded cash, police said in a news release. After being given an undisclosed amount, police said the man took off on foot southbound.

The man was described as white, about 30 years old, 5-feet-7-inches, with a thin build. He was wearing a dark baseball cap with a yellow brim and a design on its front, a black hooded sweatshirt or jacket with designs on the back and the front left side, police said.
