The Bay Area's "Glass House," a well-known landmark high atop a Fairfield hilltop, is no more after being destroyed in the Atlas fire that roared through Napa and Solano counties last week.

According to SFGate, the 13,500-square-foot hexagon-shaped glass-walled home was built for $17 million in 2003 by "Cigarettes Cheaper!" founder John Roscoe. Roscoe eventually lost his fortune and sold the property a few years ago.

There's no word yet on what the home's current owner plans to do now.

The estate featured magnificent views of both the Golden Gate Bridge and Mount Diablo and is one of many notable properties destroyed by the recent wildfires.

As of Friday, the Atlas fire has burned more than 51,000 acres and destroyed more than 400 homes.
