Highway 101 crash near River Road under investigation as hit-and-run

A witness reported a Honda weaving just before crashing into a van early Thursday.|

A crash on Highway 101 near River Road snarled traffic early Thursday, and was being investigated as a possible hit-and-run.

The crash was reported 5:42 a.m. as a white Honda sedan colliding with a van just south of River Road.

A caller reported seeing the Honda weaving just before the crash, according to dispatch logs. The Honda was reported as smoking and blocking one of the lanes.

CHP officers are investigating the incident as a hit-and-run with injuries.
