Santa Rosa man arrested, accused of molesting 2 girls

Police believe there might be more victims.|

A Santa Rosa man was arrested this week after two girls came forward to say he molested them years ago, police said.

Javier Luna Gines, 34, was booked into Sonoma County Jail on Tuesday, after the two girls, whose names were not released, disclosed multiple incidents of molestation in police interviews, the Santa Rosa Police Department said in a news release.

The first girl to report Gines said the assault occurred eight years ago. The second girl to come forward said she was assaulted five years ago. The reports shared similarities, the release said.

Gines was taken to Sonoma County Jail on two counts of performing a sex act with a child 10 years old or younger, and one count of a lewd and lascivious act with a child under 14.

He is being held without bond.

Police believe Gines had access to multiple children in the community. Anyone with information is asked to email Santa Rosa Detective Marylou Armer at marmer@srcity.org or call 707-543-4040.
