Crash sends car down embankment

A two-car crash Tuesday evening sent one vehicle down a 70-foot embankment off of Calistoga Road, a Rincon Valley fire official said.

The occupants were able to get out themselves and make their way up the side, Assistant Chief John Lantz said.

Five people from the crash were taken to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital as a precaution, but all just reported complaints of pain, the CHP said.

The crash was on Calistoga near Gates Road at about 5:40 p.m.
