In 1973, the residents of Bodega Bay held their first Fisherman’s Festival to mark the beginning of the salmon fishing season. These days, the festival has expanded to include a wooden boat challenge, live music, crafts, fine wine and food.

But Sonoma County residents have always benefited from the bounty of the river and sea. From commercial fishing operations to sporting clubs, both men and women have cast their lines into the flowing waterways that have provided generations with sustenance and entertainment.

The 45th annual Bodega Bay Fisherman’s Festival will be held April 14 and 15 at Westside Park from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. This year’s festival includes a kids' zone, touch tank tide pool, pet parade and live music from The Zins and Pride and Joy.
