Lakeport crash kills motorcycle rider

A 50-year-old Lakeport man died in a motorcycle crash Sunday night after crossing over double-yellow lines and colliding head-on with a pickup, according to the CHP.|

A 50-year-old Lakeport man died in a motorcycle crash Sunday night after crossing over double-yellow lines and colliding head-on with a pickup, according to the CHP.

The 7:20 p.m. crash in Lakeport happened near the intersection of Highway 175 and Highway 29 as the motorcyclist drifted into the path of the 2007 Dodge truck. Pickup driver Tyler J. Knudsen, 29, of Middletown and passenger Brenda Torres, 22, of Middletown were uninjured, the CHP said.

People stopped to help and conducted CPR on the rider. The rider died at the scene.

His name wasn’t released pending notification of his family.
