A woman killed in a fiery Mendocino County car crash earlier this month has been identified as a Navarro resident.

Christine Lopiccolo, 67, died about 4 a.m. May 4 after apparently losing control of her car while driving on Highway 128, the Mendocino County Sheriff’s Office said. Her car ran off the highway in Navarro, crashed into a tree and caught fire while she remained inside.

Dental records were used to identity Lopiccolo, the sheriff’s office said.

The CHP didn’t have further details on the crash, including her speed and the type of car she was driving.

The crash remains under investigation, the CHP said.
