Four members of the Press Democrat newsroom attended a luncheon Wednesday recognizing 2018 winners of the Pulitzer Prize.

On hand to represent the newspaper were Cathy Barnett, executive editor; Ted Appel, managing editor; Julie Johnson, reporter; and Kent Porter, photojournalist.

The Press Democrat was awarded the Pulitzer Prize, the highest honor in American journalism, for its "lucid and tenacious" coverage of the most devastating wildfires in California history.
