CALABASAS - The widow of a man fatally shot while camping with his daughters at a popular California wilderness park is asking for the public's help to solve the killing.

Erica Wu says in a statement Wednesday that the death of her husband, Tristan Beaudette, has been incredibly difficult for her family and she may never understand why their "time together was cut short."

Wu says she met Beaudette as teenagers and that they "grew up together." She says he was a "devoted father whose life revolved around our family, our happiness, and his hopes and dreams for our future."

Beaudette was shot in the head June 22 while sleeping in a tent with his daughters at Malibu Creek State Park.

A $30,000 reward is being offered for information that helps solve the killing.

A previous version of this story said the reward was $15,000 instead of $30,000.
