Omarosa book paints President Trump as racist

President Donald Trump casually dropped the “N-word” during his time as the star of “The Apprentice” and regularly uses racist epithets in the White House, according to reality TV star Omarosa Manigault Newman.

Manigault Newman is releasing a book next week containing an “explosive” account of her brief tenure in the Trump administration and detailing her reasons for heading for the exit.

The Guardian reported on Friday that the tell-all memoir - dubbed “Unhinged: An Insider's Account of the Trump White House” - repeats the popular claim that a tape exists featuring Trump using the N-word during outtakes for his NBC reality show, on which Manigault Newman was a contestant.

“(T)hree sources in three separate conversations had described the contents of this tape,” Manigault Newman writes. “They all told me that President Trump hadn't just dropped a single N-word bomb. He'd said it multiple times throughout the show's taping during off-camera outtakes, particularly during the first season of ‘The Apprentice.' “

Rumors of the tape have circulated since before the 2016 election, and questions about the recording were raised following the release of the controversial “Access Hollywood” hot mic recording featuring the future President saying his celebrity entitled him to assault women and “grab ‘em by the p--y.”

Manigault Newman appeared on the show's first season and returned twice more before joining the Trump in Washington as director of communications for the White House office of public liaison.

She claims that during her time in the administration she personally witnessed Trump using derogatory and racist language.

Specifically, Manigault Newman mentions that Trump would turn to hateful phrases when discussing White House counselor Kellyanne Conway's husband George Conway, who is half Filipino.

“Would you look at this George Conway article?” Trump said during one exchange, according to the book. “F--ing FLIP! Disloyal! F--ing Goo-goo.”

Both terms are considered racist names for Filipinos.

Conway, who has frequently tweeted out criticisms of the president, refuted Manigault Newman's claim.

“The allegation is not credible, and indeed is ridiculous,” he tweeted Friday. “It's absurd all around.”

Manigault Newman claims the realization that Trump was an unrepentant racist helped her decide to jump ship last December.

At the time, she writes, she felt a “growing realization that Donald Trump was indeed a racist, a bigot and a misogynist. My certainty about the N-word tape and his frequent uses of that word were the top of a high mountain of truly appalling things I'd experienced with him, during the last two years in particular.”
