Santa Rosa man 'aggressively' approaches officers with Rottweiller, police say

A Santa Rosa man was arrested Thursday night on suspicion of driving intoxicated and resisting police after officers said he “aggressively” approached them with his Rottweiller.

Antonio Borgeschi, 23, was booked into the Sonoma County Jail on charges of driving under the influence, resisting police, driving on a suspended license and violating his terms of probation. His bail was set at $35,000.

California Highway Patrol officers observed Borgeschi’s white Ford truck weaving along northbound Highway 101 near Baker Avenue about 10 p.m., according to a CHP news release. The officers attempted to stop Borgeschi, but the driver failed to yield and drove to his home on West Ninth Street.

There, Borgeschi took his Rottweiller dog out of the truck “and aggressively approached the officers,” the release stated. The officers responded by calling in more CHP and Santa Rosa police units.

Borgeschi failed to comply with officers’ commands, the release said. Meanwhile, several residents of the house were “attempting to interfere with officers” as they sought to take the man into custody.

Officers used a stun gun to arrest Borgeschi.

“No officers were injured and the dog was secured in the residence,” the release said.
