Multiple vehicles crashed early Tuesday on Highway 101 south of Petaluma, snarling the morning commute for miles.

The 5:55 a.m. crash blocked a southbound lane near San Antonio Road and backed up traffic well into Petaluma, according to initial reports. The lane was cleared just before 7 a.m.

The CHP reported minor injuries from the collision. Initial reports indicated as many as five vehicles were involved.
