Santa Rosa officer finds heartfelt note on his windshield

When a police sergeant returned to his vehicle after a dinner break at Coddingtown earlier this week, he found a small note - filled with grateful words.|

On Monday at Coddingtown Mall, a Santa Rosa police sergeant headed into a restaurant to grab dinner. When he arrived back to his patrol car, he found something he wasn't expecting — a little act of kindness.

A "grateful mom" took the time to craft a hand-written note, thanking the officer for his service.

The police department posted a photo of the note on its Facebook page on Tuesday.

"This made our day!" the post read. "Thank you Grateful Mom for taking the time to write this note, it meant a lot to our officers."

And it seems that the world could do with more acts of kindness, as Facebook user Katrine Legaspi noted in the comments.

"More of us should do this more often," Legaspi said. "Whenever I see a law enforcement officers, first responders and, military personnel, I thank them for choosing their profession."
