Smoky skies linger in Sonoma County due to the Camp fire: Check current air quality levels

The deadly Camp fire in Butte County is now more than a week old.|

As the deadly Camp fire in Butte County continues to burn and send smoke hundreds of miles south, air quality is still a concern in Sonoma County and the Bay Area.

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, people who have heart or lung diseases, older adults and children are most likely to be affected by wildfire smoke.

Ways to protect yourself include: keeping indoor air as clean as possible, shutting windows and doors; avoid activities that increase indoor air pollution like burning candles; and wearing a respirator mask labeled N95. Dust masks commonly found at hardware stores will not protect you.
