Cal Fire crews rushed to a small brush fire that broke out Saturday afternoon north of Healdsburg near Highway 101.

The wildland fire was reported at about 2:35 p.m. south of Lytton Springs Road, near the southbound lanes of the freeway, Cal Fire spokesman Will Powers said. Cal Fire’s Healdsburg station is located nearby and Healdsburg Fire Department firefighters also responded.

Crews were building containment lines around the roughly 2-acre fire and did not expect the blaze to grow, Powers said.

CHP also responded for traffic control on the freeway, Powers said. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
