Two people were rushed to the hospital Sunday morning after being ejected from a small pickup following a crash on Highway 116 in Forestville.

The accident was reported at 7:52 a.m. in the eastbound lane of Highway 116 just west of Martinelli Road. The truck drove off the road, and there were no other vehicles involved, the CHP said.

The driver and his passenger, a woman, suffered major injuries, including facial lacerations, CHP said. They were taken to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital.

The driver was suspected of being intoxicated at the time of the crash, CHP reported. The crash remains under investigation.

Traffic on the highway was blocked in both directions but was clear by 9:30 a.m., CHP said.

No other details were available.
