Arrests after 'Baby Jane Doe' found near Southern California highway

CORONA - Days after the funeral of a newborn girl found dead along a Southern California highway, police have announced two arrests in the case.

Officials in Corona say following last week's memorial service, detectives were contacted by individuals who had information regarding the baby's death.

That led to the arrests of a 22-year-old woman, Shawna Andritch, and an unnamed 17-year-old boy on suspicion of murder. It wasn't known Thursday if they have attorneys.

Police didn't release details about their alleged involvement.

The child known as "Baby Jane Doe" was discovered July 27 in a cardboard box near Interstate 15 in Corona. She was wrapped in a T-shirt.

About 70 people turned out for her funeral, which was organized in part by police officers and firefighters.
