Check out charts that display recent storage levels for Lake Mendocino and Lake Sonoma|

A new storm began drenching the region Monday morning, in the middle of a very wet winter.

The storm ramped up in the afternoon, bringing more than 10 inches to the Cazadero hills, more than 3 inches to Santa Rosa and up to 5 inches of rain to other areas.

How has recent rainfall affected the local reservoir levels?

This winter — for the first time since the Coyote Valley Dam was built in 1958, creating Lake Mendocino near Ukiah — officials at Sonoma Water can hold more than 68,400 acre feet (22 billion gallons) of water for future use by fish, farmers and residents.

Below are charts that display the storage levels, for Lake Mendocino and Lake Sonoma, respectively, for the past year, along with a ten-year average and last year's storage levels.
