Cloverdale house fire under investigation

Fire crews are investigating the cause of a fire that broke out early Saturday morning in Cloverdale.

The blaze was reported at 2 a.m. in the 800 block of Rockwell Road, off River Road east of Highway 101, according to Cal Fire, which dispatches for Cloverdale Fire Protection District.

The two-story house is located in a rural area without any hydrants, so fire crews relied on extra water trucked in from the Healdsburg, Geyserville, Santa Rosa and the Sonoma County Fire District, said Cloverdale Fire Capt. Kevin Sauder.

The house suffered significant damage and was left uninhabitable. Cal Fire said three adults associated with the fire are receiving help from The Red Cross.
