Santa Rosa police Friday night will set up a checkpoint somewhere in town to look for drivers who are under the influence of alcohol or drugs and those without a valid license, according to police officials.

Police officials don’t disclose the location. It will run from 7 p.m. Friday to 2:30 a.m. Saturday.

Law enforcement agencies hold checkpoints throughout the year, often at a holiday time, attempting to find divers who’ve been drinking or are under the influence of drugs. Officers also use the checkpoints to see if a driver has a valid license.
