Two Rio Nido men are being held in connection with a string of Sonoma County burglaries and car break-ins possibly dating back to May, a sheriff’s spokesman said Tuesday.

Robert Hansen, 51, and his roommate Adam Hager, 35, were arrested Monday after detectives surveilling them at Spring Lake Regional Park watched them smash the window of a parked car and attempt to use a stolen credit card, Sgt. Spencer Crum said.

A search of their home in the 140000 block of Canyon One Road turned up stolen items from about 20 different burglaries including replica firearms and costume clothing that was similar to law enforcement uniforms, Crum said.

They were booked on suspicion of burglary, possession of stolen property, conspiracy, identity theft and enhancements. More charges are likely as detectives connect them to other burglaries, Crum said.

The men were identified by surveillance video supplied by a Santa Rosa burglary victim Nov. 1 and stores where they are alleged to have used a stolen credit card.
