A man was rushed to the hospital and a suspect was at large late Wednesday night after gunshots were reported at the Coddingtown Mall Apartments in northwest Santa Rosa.

The victim was shot four times in the abdomen while in the complex’s parking lot about 9:25 p.m., according to dispatch reports. People called 911 to report a male suspect holding a gun and wearing a black hooded sweatshirt with white writing on the back, black pants and a black baseball cap. He was believed to have fled the area, possibly in a small sedan.

A call into the Santa Rosa Police Department for more details went unanswered shortly after the incident.
