As a baby, Holland was found abandoned in a box on a street corner in China. After Annette and Jim Holland adopted her, she grew into a remarkable athlete first as a soccer player, and then, after a severe concussion, as a runner. And it is as a runner that Holland finds a unique way of saying thank you.

Holland, who graduated in 2016, is currently a student at Winona State University in Minnesota where she continues to run.
