Young athletes participate in Ironkids Santa Rosa Fun Run

Before Saturday's Ironman Santa Rosa, more than 200 kids showed runners how to do it in the UnitedHealthcare Ironkids Santa Rosa Fun Run at Old Courthouse Square.

On Thursday, athletes as young as three participated in the inaugural fun run, running portions of the Ironman race course. Each participant received a race bib, T-shirt, gift bad and finisher medal.

The action continues Saturday with Ironman's 112-mile bike ride starting at Lake Sonoma, and the marathon finishing and ending in downtown Santa Rosa.
