Warriors All-Star Klay Thompson is stepping up to support the victims of the recent wildfires in the North Bay.

Thompson announced Friday on Facebook that he was starting a “Points With Purpose” campaign to benefit the Redwood Credit Union North Bay Fire Relief Fund.

Toward that end, he said that he will contribute $1,000 for each point he scores in the Warriors' home games Oct. 25, 27 and 29.

Anyone wishing to help should go to pledgeit.org/klay.

For his career, Thompson has averaged 19.1 points per game, so if he scores his career average he will be donating $57,300.

The Warriors play the Raptors on Wednesday, the Washington Wizards next Friday and the Detroit Pistons on Sunday, Oct. 29.
