RENO, Nev. - An Olympic skier and a professional snowboarder have teamed up to open a coffee shop near Lake Tahoe.

Olympic skier Travis Ganong and snowboarder Ralph Backstrom recently opened Pacific Crest Coffee in Truckee.

Backstrom told KOLO-TV in Reno he's always had a passion to drink, roast and brew coffee. The duo that often trains at nearby Squaw Valley - home of the 1960 Winter Games - also has created a nitro cold brew they make and bottle in-house.

Ganong finished fifth in the downhill at the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi. He missed the last Winter Games with an injury but is currently training in New Zealand.

In the meantime, Backstrom says his girlfriend, Liz Stinson, is helping out at the coffee grinder. She says she calls him, "the breaking bad of coffee."
