The Santa Rosa Junior College men's soccer team won a wild non-conference game on the road Tuesday, topping host Napa Valley College, 5-4.

'I've never seen nine goals,' Bear Cubs coach Marty Kinahan said. 'It was an entertaining game to watch, but not a fun game to coach.'

The Bear Cubs were up 3-0 just 23 minutes into the game behind two goals from Casa Grande grad Kevin Rojas and one from sophomore Jack Bailey before the Storm pulled even with goals in the 27th, 32nd and 41st minutes.

The Bear Cubs took the lead again early in the second half thanks to a goal from freshman Rigo Barragan. Freshman Juan Nuno scored the Bear Cubs' fifth goal in the 63rd minute. The Storm made it 5-4 in the 75th minute.

A Storm equalizer goal with two minutes to play was called off by the referee, Kinahan said.

'It was just a weird game,' he said. The win pushes the Bear Cubs to 4-3 overall in advance of their Big 8 Conference opener on the road Friday at Modesto Community College. The Bear Cubs host their conference home opener against San Joaquin Delta at 4 p.m. Tuesday.
