A woman was injured Friday after her pickup truck crashed into a creek off Bodega Avenue near Sebastopol, authorities said.

The woman, described as elderly, was driving northbound on Bodega Avenue when she lost control near Furlong Road, said Gold Ridge Fire Protection District Battalion Chief Jeremey Pierce.

When firefighters and Highway Patrol officers responded to the 12:51 p.m. crash, the woman was still trapped in her vehicle, which was nose down in a tributary of Atascadero Creek.

It wasn’t known whether she was wearing a seat belt, Pierce said.

It took about 15 minutes for firefighters to extricate the woman, who suffered moderate injuries and was transported to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital, Pierce said.
