Police: Man found dead in Cotati creek, foul play not suspected

No foul play is suspected after a Petaluma man’s body was discovered Monday morning in a Cotati creek, police said.

A passerby found the man in the 100 block of East Cotati Avenue around 11:30 a.m., according to the Cotati Police Department.

Investigators are trying to determine how long the man was there.

The Sonoma County Coroner’s Office will investigate the death and the man’s name is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.

There is no threat to public safety, police said.
