Sonoma County hotel room rates increased 6.8 percent in November, compared to a year earlier, travel research company STR reported Monday.
The average cost of a hotel room climbed to $143.35 a day last month, up from $134.26 in November 2014.
Occupancy rates also increased. Local hotels reported 72.2 percent of their rooms were occupied in November, up from 70.8 percent a year earlier.
To date this year, total hotel room revenues have increased 9.5 percent from the same period in 2014 to $240.7 million.
Hotels have been steadily increasing the prices they charge for rooms over the last five years. Since November 2010, the average room rate has jumped from $99.10, an increase of 44.7 percent.
The STR monthly survey includes data on more than 6,000 hotel rooms in the county.
