Davis Family Vineyards of Healdsburg has filed a lawsuit for trademark infringement and unfair and deceptive trade practices against Napa Valley winery Davis Estates LLC.

The suit was filed in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California contends that the winery has unjustly benefited from the use of the “Davis Estates” name at the expense of the Davis Family Vineyards, which has been using its trademark for more than 17 years.

Davis Family Vineyards in its suit contends a tour operator once mistakenly sent its guests to Davis Estates winery and cave in Napa Valley instead of its location.
