Emerson Valdez is the first physician to be hired as an employee rather than an independent contractor at Healdsburg District Hospital. He received his doctor of podiatric medicine degree from New York College of Podiatric Medicine and previously served as chief resident at Wycoff Heights Medical Center in Brooklyn, N.Y. His position was made possible by a law covering rural hospitals that took effect Jan. 1 and was authored by Assemblyman Jim Wood, D-Healdsburg.


David Jackson has been appointed interim CEO for the Boys & Girls Clubs of Marin and Petaluma. He previously served as human resources director for the organization and has worked for more than 15 years as a human resources executive.


Stephen Tich has joined Santa Rosa-based Ygrene Energy Fund as its chief operating officer. He has held a number of senior leadership roles within the financial services industry, including at HSBC and GE Capital.


Caroline Fuller, Denise Stovall and Alexis Lorenz have joined Vanguard Properties offices in Sonoma County.

Caroline Fuller is working out of the company’s Santa Rosa office. She became a real estate agent in 2003 and obtained her broker’s license in 2006.

Stovall joined Fuller’s team in Santa Rosa. She previously spent nearly a decade on the Martin Levy team at Century 21 Alliance.

Lorenz has joined Vanguard’s Sebastopol office. She has worked more than eight years, most recently with Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage serving Bodega Bay and Sebastopol.


Ryan Quattlebaum has been hired as the chief financial officer for Ukiah Valley Medical Center. He will start work April 3 and currently serves as director of finance at Simi Valley Hospital. Both Ukiah Valley and Simi Valley are Adventist Health hospitals.


Steve Bates and Phil Lanterman have formed American Pacific Builders, a new construction company in Santa Rosa. The company offers construction services for residential, high-rise, commercial and industrial structures and more.
