The story Jack lived: The Jack London Book Discussion Group meets Friday to discuss "The Book of Jack London," the biography London's wife, Charmain, wrote about the famed author shortly after his death. Reading as a love letter to her lost "mate," it's just one of a series of books the group will dive into that detail the life of an American icon. The discussion group will meet from 2-4 p.m. at Jack London State Historic Park in the main picnic area. Cost is $10 for admission. Non-park members will also be subject to a parking fee. Civil War Days: This weekend, the town of Duncans Mills transforms into a battleground with the largest Civil War reenactment in Northern California.
