Trumpeter Herb Alpert joins Festival del Sole line-up

Music icon and legendary trumpeter Herb Alpert and his wife, singer Lani Hall, will make their Festival del Sole debut at 6:30 p.m. July 23 at the Castello di Amorosa in Calistoga.

The concert by the duo and their band, which was just announced, will include works from their latest album, “Steppin’ Out,” plus an array of jazz and Brazilian rhythms.

In another change to the program, opera singer Deborah Voigt will appear in place of Joyce DiDonato in the opening performance of the festival at 6:30 p.m. July 17 at the Castello di Amoroso in Calistoga.
