Grateful Dead drummer appears at book signing May 26 in Petaluma

Bill Kreutzmann will talk about his new memoir during an upcoming nightclub appearance.|

The surviving members of the Grateful Dead are probably too busy to talk much right now, with two 50th anniversary reunion-and-farewell concerts coming up in Santa Clara in June and three more in Chicago in early July.

But you'll have a chance to hear from Bill Kreutzmann -- one of the band's two drummers (the other is Mickey Hart of Occidental) -- May 26, in Petaluma.

He'll be at Zodiacs nightclub in Petaluma at 7 p.m. to sign copies of his new memoir, 'DEAL: My Three Decades of Drumming, Dreams and Drugs with the Grateful Dead,' appearing with the book's co-author Benjy Eisen. Information: 773-7751, zodiacspetaluma.com.

Kreutzmann and Hart will team up this summer for the Grateful Dead's five final concerts with the band's other two surviving members, bassist Phil Lesh and guitarist Bob Weir.
