North Coast Crab Feeds

It’s crab season along the North Coast, fueling a bevy of fundraising, all-you-can-eat dinners.|

Winter is the time for North Coast fundraising crab feeds, with nonprofits taking advantage of the local crab season. Unless otherwise noted, expect all-you-can-eat crab, pasta, bread and a salad.

JAN. 31

Petaluma: The Pacific Empire Chorus’ fourth annual crab feed is 5:30-9 p.m. Saturday at the Petaluma Veterans Building, 1094 Petaluma Blvd. S., with the award-winning chorus performing two a cappella sets during the evening. Tickets are $45, $20 for kids, in advance at pacificempire.org, (877) 772-0087, or $55 at the door.

Rohnert Park: Rancho Cotate Cougar Boosters’ annual dinner is Saturday, with cocktail at 5:30 p.m. and dinner at 7 p.m. at Burton Community Center, 7421 Burton Ave. Tickets are $50 from Tami Stocker at stokey2@comcast.net.

Cloverdale: Lions Club crab feed is Saturday at 1 Citrus Fair Drive, with cocktails at 6 p.m., dinner at 7 p.m. Tickets are $55, pre-sale only, at 894-4470.

Santa Rosa: Montgomery High School’s Education Foundation sponsors a dinner that starts at 5:30 p.m. Saturday at St Eugene’s Becker Center on Montgomery Drive. In addition to crab, expect clam chowder, cheesecake and auctions to benefit Montgomery students. Tickets are $45. Info: Laurie Friday, 495-0719.

Petaluma: Petaluma Woman’s Club Crab Feed is 6:30-9 p.m. Friday at 518 B St., replacing the pasta with “Better Than Sex” cake, beer and wine. Tickets are $43 from Louie Benanti, 762-5485, lojoben5@comcast.net, with proceeds used to maintain the group’s Craftsman-style building.

Healdsburg: American Legion Post 111 hosts its 52nd annual crab feed Saturday, with a no-host bar at 3 p.m. and dinner 4-7 p.m. at the Villa Chanticleer, 1248 N. Fitch Mountain Road. Tickets are $50 at 431-2328 or 695-2663.

Penngrove: Proceeds from Penngrove Social Firemen’s dinner help maintain the group’s Penngrove Park and Penngrove Community Clubhouse. Cocktails start at 5:45 p.m. Saturday at the clubhouse, 385 Woodward. Ticket are $45 at JavAmore Café, 10101 Main St., 794-1516.

Santa Rosa: Redwood PAL Baseball Club’s annual meal runs 5:30-10:30 p.m. Saturday at Cardinal Newman Gymnasium, 4300 Old Redwood Highway. Tickets are $60 at 486-8186 or RBCCubs@comcast.net and include beer and wine.

Santa Rosa: The 26th annual Great Sonoma Crab and Wine Fest starts at 5 p.m. with hors d’ouevres paired with local wines, followed by dinner and a live auction at 6:30 p.m. at Sonoma County Fairgrounds, 1350 Bennet Valley Road. Tickets are $75 at sonomafb.org/crabfeed, benefiting Sonoma County Farm Bureau’s agricultural education activities. RSVP by Jan. 30.

Tomales: Shoreline Acres Preschool’s annual event is Saturday at the Tomales Town Hall, 27150 Maine St., with seatings at 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. Tickets are $40 pre-sale, $45 at the door, benefiting early childhood education and kindergarten preparation for kids from Tomales, Dillon Beach, Valley Ford and surrounding areas.
