Soap dispenser set on fire at Petaluma school

Police and fire officials responded to a report of a small fire in a bathroom at Casa Grande High School in Petaluma.|

Petaluma police Friday were investigating a small fire that appeared to have been intentionally set at Casa Grande High School.

School staff alerted police and fire officials at 10:10 a.m. that a small fire was found in a soap dispenser in a bathroom in the “M wing” of the school, police officials said.

Firefighters and an officer responded to the campus at Casa Grande Road and Ely Boulevard South. The fire was out at 10:17 a.m., Lt. Tim Lyons said.

Few other details were available Friday about the incident.

Lyons said that the school was not evacuated.
