A Vallejo woman was sentenced Wednesday to 14 months in jail for embezzling $138,000 from her Petaluma employer.

Eileen Madayag, 43, stole the money while working as a payroll manager for SPG Solar from 2011 to 2014, according to the complaint.

Prosecutors said she rerouted employee paychecks into several accounts in her name and intercepted payments from clients to the company.

In December, she pleaded guilty to embezzlement and admitted a sentencing enhancement for theft of more than $100,000.

She had been free on bail but was taken into custody Wednesday to begin her sentence.

Under state sentencing laws, she will be eligible for release after serving half of her punishment.
