A motorcyclist killed near Middletown over the weekend was identified Tuesday as Jeffrey Keith Boorn, 51, of Hidden Valley Lake, the CHP said.

Boorn was riding west on Highway 175 at about 4:30 p.m. Saturday when he lost control of the Super Hawk 1998 Honda bike as the road curved to the right near Socrates Mine Road, CHP Officer Kory Reynolds said.

Boorn slid into the opposing lane and into the path of an oncoming car, a 2002 Chrysler Sebring driven by William Chambers Jr., 62, of Cobb, Reynolds said.

Chambers had been traveling at about 25 to 30 mph and Boorn was traveling at an unknown speed, according to the CHP.

Boorn’s bike crashed head-on into the Chrysler. Cobb Cal Fire paramedics were unable to revive him. Chambers was uninjured, the CHP said.
