A Marin County man suspected in the slaying of 84-year-old Olga Dinelli of Penngrove pleaded not guilty Monday to charges stemming from the death of his alleged accomplice during a police chase in Arizona.

Victor Silva, 27, of Novato appeared in custody in a Parker, Ariz., courtroom where he was arraigned on suspicion of first-degree murder and fleeing officers in the Feb. 28 pursuit that ended in the fatal shooting of Stephanie Hill, 37, also of Novato.

La Paz County prosecutors filed legal papers demanding Silva produce physical evidence such as blood and hair follicles. A judge will hear oral arguments next Monday.

It was unclear whether Silva would be transported back to Sonoma County to face possible charges in Dinelli’s death. She was found bound and shot to death in her Rose Avenue home on Feb. 26.

Deputies believe Silva and Hill ransacked Dinelli’s home before fleeing south and across the desert. They were spotted on Interstate 10 by Riverside County deputies who chased them across state lines. Authorities said Hill brandished a gun and was shot by a deputy.
